FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

DO YOU HAVE GIFT CARDS?

Yes! Perfect for any gift, we have reloadable gift cards that never expire.  All gift card purchases come with a Carte Blanche gift bag and tissue paper. Note: gift cards are treated like cash,  if lost or stolen we cannot replace or refund them.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide 24 hours notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice are subject to a 50% charge on your account. All group bookings require a Credit Card to reserve an appointment.

WHAT IS YOUR SPA ETTIQUETTE?

Due to Covid-19 please arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment to allow for check-in procedures and to fill out our  Covid screening form and have your temperature taken. All facials, microblading, laser and spa medical treatments are required to fill out a questionnaire. Should you arrive late, time will be deducted from the service. Cell phone use is not allowed in the spa we try to keep a quiet atmosphere and to not disturb other quests. It is not recommended to bring children under the age of 6 to the spa, however well-behaved children are accepted in the spa on the less busy days such as Sunday and Monday.

DO YOU HAVE SPA PACKAGES?

We offer 4 spa packages, ranging from $80-$325. Spa Packages are discounted up to 35% off regular priced individual services. Packages are priced per person and cannot be split between clients and all services must be done on the same day. 

HOW DO YOU SANITIZE YOUR TOOLS/EQUIPMENT?

*UPDATE* Regarding Covid-19: We are following all recommended protocols and guidelines provided by Ottawa Public Health, including but not limited to: clients and staff are required to fill out Covid screening forms and have temperature taken, salon & spa at 25%-50% occupancy (depending on colour zone), use of every second station to ensure staff and clients are 6 feet apart. All staff and clients are required to wear face masks at all times,  and protective shields or goggles when in the treatment rooms or when the client needs to remove their mask ie:  facial treatment. Surfaces and washrooms, door handles are all cleaned regularly if not after each client. We have allotted 15 minutes of cleaning time after each spa treatment to thoroughly clean the room and/or station used. Please be patient as it can cause a short delay. It should also be noted that clients cannot linger in the spa after their treatment, but are free to wait at the front reception area for 15 minutes post treatment if waiting for their polish to dry or to finish their beverage. 

Carte Blanche has passed a health inspection as of July 2020. All Spa implements that are used on clients are cleaned with soap and water and soaked in PREEMPT CS20 (a high level disinfectant of 7% accelerated hydrogen peroxide) for 20 minutes.  All staff have two sets of stainless steel implements so that the same tools are never used twice in a row.  All Pedicure basins are 100% stainless steel with no jets and are washed with Lysol and running water, sprayed with Accel TB and left for 5 minutes between EVERY pedicure.  All surfaces used are cleaned with Lysol and Sprayed with PREEMPT RTU.  Our staff are trained on up-to-date sanitation and disinfection methods within our industry and we take cleanliness and sanitation very seriously. 

WHAT TYPE OF WAX DO YOU USE?

For most of our waxing we use a creamy soft-wax with cotton strips. Our soft wax is gentle and effectively removes hair.  We have one esthetician who uses hard-wax which does not use any strips/does not pull as much on the skin. This is great for extremely sensitive skin as it doesn't remove any of the top layer of dead skin, only the hair. Hard-wax is only used on the face, underarm and bikini areas. If you would prefer hard-wax please specify upon booking.

DO YOU DO EVENTS OR GROUP BOOKINGS?

YES! We are happy to host events and group bookings such as bridal parties and birthdays. Groups of 5 or more get the Spa essentially to themselves and are welcome to bring decorations and catering. Group rates are also available.

DO YOU DO CONSULTATIONS?

Not sure what you're looking for? No problem, all consultations with our knowledgeable staff are completely free of charge. Book your consultation alone, or before your scheduled appointment.
Note: Hair prices are varied depending on stylist, should you need a price quote a consultation is recommended.

DO YOU OFFER OLAPLEX?

Yes, We offer both Wellaplex & Olaplex treatments. It is is an extra $25 added to your service charge. If you would like Wellaplex or Olaplex with to your hair service please let reception know upon booking as it requires extra time. Want more information? Visit Olaplex.com. or Wella.com

Happy with your service? Gratuities are welcome and  given at your discretion. Please note all gift cards and packages do not include gratuities.

DO YOU ISSUE AN INSURANCE RECEIPT FOR YOUR MASSAGE?

No,  our Estheticians are fully trained in Relaxation and Hot Stone massage,  but we do not have Registered Massage Therapists on staff.

WHAT TYPE OF GEL NAILS DO YOU OFFER?

At Carte Blanche we provide our clients and staff with a safe, chemical free atmosphere. We do NOT do Acrylic nails or use gel with any strong smell or chemical.  We use Bio-Sculpture Gel which is a natural based 100% gel product. Safe for your nails,  it offers 5x the strength of your natural nails,  can be filled every 3-4 weeks and is soaked off for removal. Extensions (adding length) can be done and are sculpted one by one with sculpting gel (requires a minimum of 2mm of free edge for extensions to hold).  OPI Gel Colour (gel polish, like Shellac) is also offered and can last up to two weeks.

Prices are located in our "Services" section.  Note: If you currently have acrylic or gel nails on from another spa we ask that you remove them there before booking with us. We do not use drills and cannot remove acrylics and certain types of gels. 

WHAT IF I AM NOT HAPPY WITH A SERVICE I HAVE RECEIVED?

If you are not satisfied with your experience at Carte Blanche we would love to know so we can improve upon our standards. We will get back to you within 24-48 hours. Carte Blanche does not issue refunds for any spa or salon services.

CAN I RETURN A PRODUCT?

If you are unhappy with a product you purchased with us (excluding styling tools), and the product is at least half full, we will gladly exchange the product or issue a gift card for the amount paid for the product within 30 days of purchase.

DO YOU ACCEPT ALL CREDIT CARDS?

We accept DEBIT, VISA & MASTERCARD. We  do not  accept AMERICAN EXPRESS.
